Calculating
How is my CGPA calculated?
Each course's grade point is multiplied by its credit units. Your GPA for a semester is the total of those, divided by the total units. Your CGPA does the same across every semester you've saved. For example, an A (5 points) in a 3-unit course adds 15 points.
Which grading scales are supported?
The Nigerian 5.00 scale (A=5 to F=0) and the 4.00 scale used by many polytechnics, plus any custom scale you set up in the general calculator.
I'm not a COOU Computer Science student. Can I use it?
Yes. Use the general calculator: add your own levels, semesters and courses on any scale. The COOU CS calculator just saves you typing because the courses are already loaded.
How are carry-overs handled?
In the COOU calculator you can add a carry-over course to the semester you retake it. Both attempts count towards your CGPA, as most Nigerian universities do. If your school treats retakes differently, your official CGPA may differ slightly.
Why is my CGPA different from my school's?
Usually a missing course, a wrong unit, or a retake rule your school applies. Check each semester's courses and units against your result slip. Your school's published result is always the official one.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once you've opened it online, the calculators and your saved results work without data. Changes sync when you're back online. You can also install it on your phone from the browser.
Account and Premium
Do I need an account?
You need to sign in (Google or email) to save results, so they're safe and available on any device.
What do I get free, and what does Premium add?
Free accounts can save up to 2 semesters. Premium unlocks unlimited semesters, the full history, both calculators without limits and the AI academic advisor. It's a one-time payment of ₦1,000: no subscription.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer. When you upgrade, we show a one-time account number from our payment partner, Korapay. Transfer the exact amount and Premium turns on automatically, usually within a minute.
I paid but I'm still on the free plan.
Bank transfers sometimes take a few minutes. Close the app and open it again: we re-check your payment each time. If it still hasn't updated after an hour, contact us with the time and amount of the transfer. See our refund policy.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us from the email on your account and we'll delete your account and results within 30 days. See the privacy policy.
AI academic advisor
What does the AI advisor do?
It reads your saved results and shows where you stand, the GPA you need for your target class, opportunities (scholarships, internships, fellowships) your CGPA qualifies for or is close to, and a short plan to raise or keep your CGPA.
Can the AI get my numbers wrong?
Your CGPA, the GPA you need and whether you meet an opportunity's minimum are all worked out by our own tested code, not the AI. The AI only explains them in plain English, and any sentence where it changes a figure is removed.
Are the opportunities real?
They're suggested by AI from public information, and we check that every link opens a real official page before showing it. Rules and dates change, so always confirm on the official page before applying.
What do you send to the AI?
Only your grades, course codes, level, course of study and target. Never your name, email, registration number or school. You agree to this once before using the advisor.
